The Uptown Dining Map Just Got Redrawn: A Resident's Guide to 2026's New Openings

Walk from The Stoneleigh south along Cedar Springs and you pass three construction fences, two soft-opening banners, and one line out the door for tacos. If you have lived in Uptown for more than a year, you already know the McKinney Avenue axis. You know Nick & Sam's, Uchi, CATCH, Nuri, Avra. What you might not have noticed, because it happened in bursts across five months, is that the neighborhood's dining center of gravity has quietly slid west, toward Cedar Springs Road and Oak Lawn Avenue.

This post is a working map of that shift. Every place named below is either open now or has a confirmed 2026 opening, and every one of them sits inside Uptown or on its immediate edge. Treat it as the cheat sheet for the next two months of dinner reservations.

The 23Springs cluster is doing the heaviest lifting

The new office tower at 23Springs, on Cedar Springs at the northern edge of Uptown, has turned into the single most active dining address in the neighborhood. Three openings, three very different price points, one park-facing patio row.

Little Ruby's, at 2305 Cedar Springs Road, is the all-day Australian cafe from New York's Wish You Were Here Group. It took a 3,000-square-foot space overlooking 23Springs Park and serves breakfast until 4 p.m. plus a full menu of bowls, sandwiches, pasta, and ricotta hotcakes. Dallas is the concept's first outpost outside the East Coast.

Élephante, at 2323 Cedar Springs, is the coastal Southern Italian restaurant from the same hospitality group, transplanted from Santa Monica. It opened in the first quarter of 2026 and is the more evening-forward of the two.

Torchy's Tacos, also at 2305 Cedar Springs, is the one worth pausing on. Torchy's has 27 locations across North Texas. Until June 2026, none of them were in inner-city Dallas. The 23Springs location is the first, and yes, the rent is priced into the ticket. The patio faces the park.

The scale of what Cedar Springs now supports is easier to grasp against a single data point from a few doors down: Nick & Sam's sold more than $500,000 a month in liquor last year, per the Dallas Observer. That is the volume of business the corridor absorbs before any of these new rooms have taken a seat away from anyone.

The Stoneleigh becomes the anchor at the other end

For years, The Stoneleigh's restaurant slot was an afterthought inside a hotel most residents walked past. That changed with the property's multimillion-dollar renovation and the June 2026 opening of Lions Den, a modern Italian supper club from Michelin-starred chef Michael White.

The menu is seafood-forward with a raw bar, lobster, grilled Branzino, and Dover sole, but the pasta program is the reason to book: house-made bucatini, tagliatelle, and agnolotti. The signature is a Porterhouse served as both a tartare di manzo and a prime grilled striploin. The cocktail list runs to a Sicilian Iced Tea and a Martini D'Oro.

What Lions Den does for the neighborhood matters more than any single dish. Uptown's high-end Italian tier used to require a drive to Knox or Highland Park. It no longer does.

The Oak Lawn spine fills in the middle

Between Cedar Springs and the Stoneleigh, Oak Lawn Avenue picked up four openings this year that would each anchor a smaller neighborhood on their own. They arrive different enough from each other that they are not competing for the same table.

A few things worth flagging as a resident:

Ospi is Jackson Kalb's first location outside California. The name is short for ospitante, Italian for host, and Kalb has publicly framed it as a lunch trattoria that shifts into a familial dinner room and a weekend brunch spot. Meddlesome Moth regulars will recognize the bones of the building.

Babel occupies the old Steel space in the Centrum. Chef Zeina Kamal's menu leans on mezze, grilled meats, seafood, and vegetarian dishes, and the design brief for the room was, per the restaurant, a modern Babylonian retreat. It is the closest thing Uptown has to serious Lebanese cooking at this price point.

Andreas Prime is the quieter arrival with the most useful add-on. Bar Cosette, the attached lounge, works for pre-dinner drinks or a late-night stop and gives Uptown a small-format cocktail room the corridor has been short on.

A resident's playbook for the next month

If you already live here, the practical question is not which of these is best. It is which one to walk to on a Tuesday.

• Out-of-town guest who has read about Dallas dining: Lions Den. It is the room that gets photographed.
• Weekday breakfast meeting that needs to end quickly: Little Ruby's, before the 23Springs office rush hits.
• Third-date dinner that should not feel like a first date: Babel. The pace of a mezze table does the work for you.
• Friday when you want a real Italian pasta course without a Knox drive: Ospi for casual, Lions Den for occasion.
• The one that is going to have a line all summer: Torchy's at 23Springs. Go at 2 p.m. or wait until October.
• Nightcap after any of the above: Bar Cosette inside Andreas Prime.

What this means for the neighborhood

Three years ago, an Uptown resident's mental map of dinner ran McKinney Avenue north to south, with the West Village and Victory Park as bookends. The 2026 openings do not replace that map. They rotate it ninety degrees. Cedar Springs at 23Springs, Oak Lawn between the two 1620s addresses, and The Stoneleigh at Maple form a new triangle, and every corner of it is walkable from most of Uptown's residential towers.
